The enemy of our souls thought it was the end of our redemption story when Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, Savior, and Lord, hung on the cross of Calvary. The cross was not the end, but the well-designed and planned beginning for anyone and everyone who comes to God through the saving knowledge of repentance in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ willingly laid down His life as the perfect sacrifice for the remission of sins. He had the power to lay it and to take it up (resurrect). Jesus Christ, by His willing death on the cross, redeemed us from the eternal curse of the law, which man has willfully transgressed in every generation of mankind since the fall of Adam in the garden of Eden. Only Jesus Christ could redeem us from the eternal curse so we can be blessed in Him- 1 Corinthians 2:7-8, John 10:17-18, Galatians 3:13-14.
The resurrection power came from the eternal authority Jesus Christ has over life and death. The resurrection power was displayed on the cross after Jesus Christ declared, “IT IS FINISHED!” The veil of the temple was not only torn from top to bottom. The graves were opened; many bodies of the saints were raised, came out of the graves, and appeared to many in the holy city after His resurrection. The birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the most significant and pivotal events in the history of mankind. It is a direct divine intervention to change how closely we can relate to God and spend eternity with Him. We must be mindful not to take the redeeming grace for granted. Jesus Christ paid the price of sin and removed all barriers to go into the holy of holies by offering Himself as the perfect sacrificial lamb without spot or blemish for our sins. The love of God is the greatest love we will ever receive and enjoy for now and for all eternity because it does not diminish over time-Matthew 27:51-54, Hebrews 9:27-28, 1 Peter 1:17-19.
When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He first descended to the lower parts of the earth and led captivity captive and ascended to fill all things with His resurrection power and glory. Jesus Christ gave us the gift of eternal life, spiritual gifts, and the unquantifiable blessings we enjoy in Him. The power of His resurrection is still at work in us and through us today. The same power of His resurrection abides in all who truly believe and abide in Him today. It is the same power by His Holy Spirit that saves, heals, and delivers from darkness today. The power of God does not wane with time. It has always been the same and will remain so forevermore. Jesus will always be the same, yesterday, today, and forevermore. Yes, that same power that raised Jesus Christ from the grave also strengthens even our mortal bodies. It cleans and purges us to be living temples and vessels of honor in the service of our Savior and Master, Jesus Christ- Ephesians 4:7-10, Hebrews 13:8, Romans 8:11.
The resurrection power of Jesus Christ conquered death and took its sting so that we need not fear death. For the true believer in Jesus Christ, death is a passage to eternal life with God. It is not the end but the beginning of eternity with God that has no end. The Bible states that for the believer in Jesus Christ, within the twinkling of an eye, immortality takes over mortality, and the incorruptible takes over the corruptible. The same resurrection power will raise all who die in faith. Sin, death, and darkness were defeated on the cross of Calvary. The death of a believer in Jesus Christ is a glorious homecoming that gives hope of reunion, strength, and comfort to loved ones who mourn. For the believer, death is simply a transition into God’s eternal presence, and it is not something to dread because of the power of resurrection. This eternal and timeless truth has made believers in Jesus Christ in every generation of mankind, from the early disciples and apostles, to face every manner of death with rejoicing rather than with fear and trembling. Persecuted Christians were burned at the stake in the Middle Ages, and many are still killed for proclaiming Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Many chose physical death rather than denying Jesus Christ without fear and even praying for their cruel killers. to their amazement. The world cannot understand it because the power of resurrection is the manifestation of the power of God –1 Corinthians 15: 51-53, 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, Isaiah 57:1-2.
Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation for true believers in Jesus Christ who walk according to His Holy Spirit, not according to the works of flesh. The power of redemption empowers us to crucify the works of flesh on the cross, so that we can work in a newness of mind in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our carnal minds die in Christ so that our minds can be renewed in Him. The power of His resurrection is always doing a work of righteousness in and through us. We lose the desire to live a sinful and disobedient life as our spirit man is awakened to the righteousness of God. The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirits that we are indeed the children of God. The divine inheritance of all believers was secured by the power of Jesus’s redemption-Romans 8:1-17, Ephesians 4:23-24, Colossians 3:2-3.
The resurrection power of Jesus Christ brings back to life everything dead. Jesus Christ is the hope of the hopeless. The resurrection power always speaks the word of God and manifests His power and glory. It will always bear witness to the finished work of Jesus Christ in truth and righteousness. It performs wonders without number. The redemption power of God at work through the gospel of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, saves, heals, and delivers. It is the power that transforms a sinner into a righteous soul in Christ, the fearful into a bold and unashamed witness for Christ. The resurrection power is also the same power that brings times of refreshing, renewal, and restoration in the lives of true believers in Jesus Christ each moment of the day. God is always at work in the midst of His people. Declare His power and proclaim His glorious redemption. Let your voice resound from the mountain top and the valley deep for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, conquered sin and death to lead us in an eternal procession of victory. The cross took away the curse so we can enjoy the manifold blessings of God. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ brought eternal life and the abundant life we enjoy in Him-Job 9:10, Romans 1:16, 2 Corinthians 2:14-17.
