You can never please God without faith, without depending on Him
Anyone who wants to come to God must believe that there is a God
And He rewards those who sincerely look for Him-Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
Believing simply means to accept something as true, to feel the truth of and to feel sure that someone is this case, God is a capable of a particular action. Nelson’s Biblical dictionary defines faith as belief in or a confident attitude towards God involving commitment to His will for one’s life.
A person who believes is one who takes accepts God’s Word for its worth and simply trust Him for salvation through Christ and for other blessings. A heart that believes God will have faith in God and trust God at His Word. A heart that believes is blessed with peace and joy!
To be blessed is to be endowed with divine favor which is made visible (manifest) in our lives in different ways and circumstances. As we journey through life, we all come to the realization sooner or later that the best or most treasured things in life cannot be bought with money. We can not buy our salvation, true love, peace of mind, joy or divine protection. Believers in Jesus Christ live in God’s favor even in the midst of chaos all around them, personal trials, pain or loss because He is the ever present help. He never forsakes or leaves His own desolate. God by His Holy Spirit always puts a new song in our hearts. We are never alone!
The pertinent questions that we must all answer to help us build resilience rooted in our faith in God are do we really believe and trust Him like we say we do even doubts assail our minds? Do we believe only when things begin to look up? Do you trust God’s plan for your life without all the details? Are we walking by faith or by sight? In John 20:29, Jesus said to Thomas, one of His disciples who only believed the resurrection after He appeared to Him, “You believe because you have seen me. But blessed are those who have not seen me and believe.”
The starting point for anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord and ask for the forgiveness sins is to be blessed. The blessings of believing are far greater than our depth of believing. God’s requirement is to believe with your mouth and confess with your mouth that Christ is Savior and Lord!
When a young girl called Mary was given an extraordinary news about the Messiah in Luke 1:45, she believed the Word of God sent to her and treasured it in her heart. Today, there is fulfillment of the things spoken and written in God’s Word if we believe. It is in believing that our faith deepens. We become resilient through the twists and turns in our journey of life and faith as we keep trust God.
