Faith is generally a strong or complete belief, confidence or trust in someone or something. Faith is believing in God and trusting Him in the integrity of who He is. The very nature of God is unchangeable. God was before all time and all things He created. He is God all by Himself! Therefore, we cannot have faith in God without having confidence in Him or putting our trust in Him.

The Bible in the book of Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see. This why we are enjoined to ” walk by faith not by sight” as follows of Jesus Christ in 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Understanding the basics of faith helps us to grow in the eternal truth and grace of God’s word. Faith like life is a journey. Faith in God is not an abstract concept. It is not hinged on our feelings or present circumstances. We have faith in God because He is always reliable and beyond faithful! God always shows up for us even when we do not realize it.

Jesus used a lot of parables to teach concepts of the Christian faith in divine wisdom and eternal truth. The parable of the mustard seed is one of the clearest teachings of Jesus about faith because it addresses how much faith is big enough to “move mountains” of the challenges we face or the hopelessness in our situation or in the world today.
The mustard seed faith also reveals the power of faith in God. Matthew 17:20 Also the Parable of the Mustard Seed is one of the shorter parables of Jesus that appears in the synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. The Parable of the Mustard Seed is a short one: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches”

The journey of faith starts with little faith-the mustard seed faith. Mustard seeds are the small round seeds of various mustard plants. The seeds are usually about 1 to 2 millimeters (132 to 332 in) in diameter and may be colored from yellowish white to black. They are an important spice for food.

Our journey of life and faith has an eternal destination and we need to keep growing in faith to reach it .
It is impossible to please God without faith in His ability to do as He says He will Hebrews 11:6.

The question is not in God’s ability or undeniable power to do as He says He will. The question is if we have faith as little as the mustard seed for God has allotted a measure of faith to us all Romans 12:3.
