The Christian faith is a peculiar faith that cannot be compared with any kind of faith because it is faith in a living God through Jesus Christ who has no beginning or end-Revelation 1:8.

When we confess our sins in genuine repentance and are washed clean by the blood of Jesus Christ through faith, our journey of ever-deepening steadfast trust in God and His Promises begin. It is a living faith that grows, speaks and defends. Faith is a defense for all who put their trust in Jesus Christ. Faith speaks and acts on our behalf because our faith is in a living eternal God who exists forever. The Christian faith is not passive, and neither is dormant or barren. It bears fruits and becomes a living testimony of our walk with God and the kind of life we live in the world. We are called by God to live by faith not by the things we see. Everyone born of God overcomes the world and our faith in a world that is hostile to the unfiltered truth of the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ is a defense against the fiery arrows of the enemy of our souls-1 John 5:4, Ephesians 6:16, 2 Corinthians 5:7.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a shield as the something or someone that defends and a broad piece defensive carried on the arm. Understanding what a shield stands for helps us to “see” with the eyes of faith how shielded we are from the relentless attacks of the enemy of our souls and his agents on the central message of our faith, what it represents, and the values built on its foundation. The Bible enjoins every true believer in Jesus Christ to take up or hold up the shield of faith in order to extinguish the fiery or flaming arrows of the enemy. We can only do this if the banner of our faith is already lifted up for all to see and testify. It is beyond just professing our faith without the necessary and intentional actions to back it up. The shield of faith is activated when we are attacked or ostracized for our faith In Jesus Christ, it is also activated in spiritual warfare as well as in times of quiet. The shield of faith is active throughout our journey of life and faith because God is always protecting us. God is our ark of safety and the stronghold of our lives, so we do not have to live in fear-Psalm 91, Psalm 27.

The shield of faith is for every season of our walk with God; it does not go out of date. It is in addition to taking up the full armor of God to stand our ground in the scourge of evil. The shield of faith helps of to stand firm with the belt of the truth of the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ around our waists. It is additional to having the breastplate of righteousness and our feet ready and active in declaring and spreading the gospel that brings the peace of God to the hearts of both young and old. righteousness. The shield of faith is effective with the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God with prayer making it the best defense system the world has ever seen in Jesus Christ-Ephesians 6, Psalm 46.

We must stand strong and firm in steadfast confidence in God to protect and defend us in ways that bring glory to His name and stands as a testimo0ny of our living faith to the world that is quick to reject everything thing that is true and godly. We cannot afford to be silent or cower in fear; we cannot be disobedient to the mandate given all true believers in Christ to the ministry of reconciling the world to God. It is our Christian duty to tell the world of the amazing love story of the redemption in Jesus Christ alone. Let’s allow our unwavering and unapologetic faith in the only living and true God speak for us and defend us as we focus on our calling to boldly declare the truth of God’s love and word to a dying world. Our victory and fruitfulness are in abiding in Jesus Christ and Him abiding in us. We have not been given the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. The outcome is always victorious in our living faith which cannot be denied or defeated. Therefore, we must all stand firm and strong in the power of the Holy Spirit-John 15, 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 Corinthians 16:13.

We are called and empowered by the Holy Spirit to declare the gospel without shame or malice. We are called to declare our faith in truth and to allow our living faith in the eternal God speak for us in every circumstance as true believers in Jesus Christ. Faith is a shield from the fiery accusations and fiery arrows of the enemy of our souls. We are called to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit regardless of the cost for therein lies our victory in Christ that the world would see and testify to the eternal praise and glory of God. Our faith in Jesus Christ is an eternal defense. Faith is a shield. Pick up your shield of faith today and stand firm in the power of the Holy Spirit.
